Day 1 – April 1 | Arrival in Paro & Transfer to Thimphu

  • Arrive at Paro International Airport where you’ll be warmly welcomed by your Bhutan Voyage guide and driver. Enjoy a scenic drive to Thimphu along the Paro and Thimphu rivers, with short photo stops along the way.
  • After check-in at the hotel, take time to rest or enjoy a gentle evening stroll around the city.
  • Welcome dinner and trip orientation in the evening.

Overnight: Thimphu – Hotel River View

 

Day 2 – April 2 | Paro Tshechu Festival & Paro Town

  • Early morning drive from Thimphu to Paro to attend the Paro Tshechu Festival, one of Bhutan’s most vibrant and culturally significant celebrations.
  • Spend the morning witnessing sacred mask dances, traditional music, and ritual performances performed by monks and lay dancers. Your guide will explain the Buddhist symbolism and stories behind the dances.
  • In the afternoon, enjoy a relaxed walk around Paro town, visiting local handicraft stores, souvenir shops, cafés, and traditional Bhutanese architecture.
  • Later in the day, drive back to Thimphu and relax at the hotel.

Day 3 – April 3 | Thimphu to Punakha

  • After breakfast, depart Thimphu for Punakha via the beautiful Dochula Pass (3,100 m). Stop to enjoy panoramic Himalayan views and the iconic 108 stupas.
  • Descend into the warmer Punakha Valley and visit the magnificent Punakha Dzong, dramatically located at the confluence of the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers.
  • Take a short riverside walk before checking in at the lodge and enjoying a peaceful evening.

Overnight: Punakha – Spirit Village Lodge

 

Day 4 – April 4 | Punakha to Phobjikha Valley

  • After breakfast, continue your journey toward the serene Phobjikha Valley, known for its wide glacial landscape and tranquil atmosphere.
  • Along the way, enjoy scenic mountain views and countryside villages.
  • Visit Gangtey Monastery, an important center of Nyingma Buddhism, followed by a gentle walk on the Gangtey Nature Trail, perfect for photography and light walking.
  • Check in and relax at your guest house in the valley.

Overnight: Phobjikha – Gakiling Guest House

 

Day 5 – April 5 | Phobjikha Valley Exploration

  • Enjoy a slow and peaceful day in Phobjikha Valley.
  • Spend time walking through the valley, visiting local villages, interacting with residents, and enjoying nature and birdlife.
  • This is a great day for photography, reflection, and soaking in Bhutan’s rural beauty.

Overnight: Phobjikha – Gakiling Guest House

 

Day 6 – April 6 | Phobjikha to Paro

  • After breakfast, begin the scenic drive back toward Paro, passing through forests, valleys, and mountain passes.
  • Arrive in Paro and check in at the hotel.
  • Evening free to explore Paro town, enjoy riverside walks, or relax at the hotel.

Overnight: Paro – Gawaling Hotel

 

Day 7 – April 7 | Tiger’s Nest Monastery & Farewell Dinner

  • Early morning hike to the iconic Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest), perched dramatically on a cliff 900 meters above the Paro Valley.
  • The hike is gradual and rewarding, offering breathtaking views and one of Bhutan’s most spiritual experiences.
  • Return to Paro in the afternoon for rest and relaxation with a hot stone bath if available.
  • In the evening, enjoy a farewell cultural dinner to celebrate the journey.

Day 8 – April 8 | Departure from Paro

  • Transfer to Paro International Airport for your onward journey.
